Rachel Horwell

Rachel graduated from University of Otago in 2004 and has since worked in a variety of settings including hospital, clinic and community settings in New Zealand, Australia, and the UK.

Rachel is a multiskilled physiotherapist with a wide range of rehabilitative and musculoskeletal skills. Rachel has a particular passion for working with people with neurological concerns (Parkinson’s Disease, Stroke, Dementia) providing private home visiting neurorehabilitation. Rachel takes a positive and proactive approach to health, falls prevention and pain management. Honouring these values, Rachel established her Danzability adapted dance-based exercise group in 2015 and teaches classes weekly in Greytown and Porirua.

Rachel holds a Post graduate Certificate in Rehabilitation and has recently completed a certificate in Dance Movement Therapy. Rachel is passionate about supporting people to thrive in their homes and communities by providing intelligent, effective, creative, and uplifting rehabilitation.

Rachel enjoys exploring the Wairarapa’s wilderness including tramping, cycling, and river swims. She also delights in dancing, gardening, reading and playing ukulele.
